Has your doctor told you that you'll get diabetes if you're not careful?  Learn more about borderline diabetes and how to avoid the full-blown disease from the Joslin Diabetes Center, affiliated with Harvard University.  If you've recently been diagnosed, Joslin also has a beginner's guide.

You'll find solid overviews of diabetes at the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases, a division of the U.S. government. Also try the University of Massachusetts.

Diabetes hasn't always been well understood, but it's no stranger to humans. Read a brief and interesting history of the disease from the Canadian Diabetes Association.
